Hey GiGi. Good post. I might do something similar at my blog in the future. At the moment I take omega 3 caps, zinc & magnesium caps, whey protein, creatine, l-glutamine and glucosamine. I used to take multi vitamins but after doing some research on the topic I decided that I would rather try to get the vitamins I need from diet alone. I don't really agree with the "one size fits all approach" of multi-vitamins.

Thanks, Darya. I read your post and have heard that information before (about people living farther from the equator). I don't think that applies to her since she was raised in the desert (near Palm Springs, CA) and got plenty of sun her whole life.

However, better safe than sorry and although it's possible to OD on Vitamin D, you'd have to take it in far greater amounts than she's taking.

Oh no, sorry about your daughter. I just wrote a post this week about the latest research on vit D and MS. It seems like most of the damage is done before teenage years. Best of luck to you and your daughter... xoxoxo

Yes, actually I think Vitamin D (in the form of D3) is great. I got my daughter, who has MS, to start
taking it. It's probably on my list of supplements to substitute in sometime in the future.

What about vitamin D? I am a scientist and have done a ton of reading about which supplements are safe and effective. The only things I take I take are one multivitamin and vitamin D (1000IU, oil based gels).
